As a Service Manager, I oversee the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of AKPS in order to support the therapist team. A large part of my role includes work in client documentation and communication. I also plan, develop and organise marketing activities in order to support the service growth of AKPS. I obtained my Master’s Degree in International Marketing in Scotland and Diploma in Public Relations and Advertising in Hong Kong.
I have over 15 years of experience in client liaison and marketing communication in both Hong Kong and Australia. These experiences have allowed me to work for various organizations, marketing/PR agencies and government bodies over the years. In my spare time, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy travelling, singing and swimming. I love the Company Mission of AKPS – With Love, We Help Children, Support Families, and Strengthen Communities. Hi, I am Joe Kim, an Allied Health Assistant at AKPS. Welcome to an introduction about myself! I am currently studying in my 4th year of Bachelor of Podiatry at Queensland University of Technology. During my course of study, I have had a lot of clinical experience with the paediatric population in the health clinic at QUT Podiatry. Also, I have had various teaching experiences for some sports for kids such as football, basketball, badminton, and swimming. I am very happy to work at AKPS with Dr Amy and our team members. I believe all kids are angels. Thus, I think that they deserve countless love and care.
The goal I would like to achieve is to help the children be active and experience full joyfulness. In line with a prescription by Dr Amy, I am striving to provide the most effective services to clients. Early intervention is critical in order to improve the developmental and functional movement of the body in young children. Through Home-visit and Client-oriented services, I will try my best to optimise the quality of life for all lovely kids.
Hi there! My name is Marcus Lee, an Allied Health Assistant at AKPS. My role is to facilitate and assist in the execution of the prescribed physiotherapy exercise program in a safe, encouraging and fun environment. I am a firm believer of the importance of appropriate early intervention in the management of paediatric conditions and its ability to influence a child’s development – physically, cognitively, socially and emotionally.
More about myself, I am currently in my third year of the Bachelor of Podiatry program at Queensland University of Technology. My paediatric experience includes clinical involvement with the paediatric population at QUT Health Clinic (Podiatry) and engaging in school visits to educate children about their health and the health profession.
Hi, my name is Renee. I am a mature aged Allied Health Assistant and mum to 3. I have a background in childcare. I began my career in childcare in 2004 and progressed to early intervention in 2015. As an Allied Health Assistant, I work alongside paediatric physiotherapist Dr Amy, occupational therapists and speech therapists to provide and implement specific programs for the individual child. By creatively incorporating the child’s interest into the session, while challenging and adapting to the needs of the day, children become excited about therapy and ultimately learn through play.
Early childhood theorist Vygotsky suggests that the main source of developmental learning in early years is play. “In play a child deals with things as having meaning.” My goal is to provide a meaningful, holistic, fun and engaging program to ensure positive outcomes and achieving goals. If it’s fun and interesting, we will want to learn. Let’s play and learn together!
I am an Allied Health Assistant at AKPS where I help deliver and supervise at-home exercise programs created by the Physiotherapist. My main goal is to ensure the client enjoys the exercises by being proactive and keeping the session fun. Furthermore, I aim to help clients develop self-efficacy in their exercise programs and ensure positive development both mentally and physically.
I graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor’s of Exercise and Sports Science (Honours). I have gained many experiences working with children of all ages through university courses and placements as well as being a figure skating coach for 5 years. I believe that movement and exercise is particularly important for children as it is crucial for development of gross motor skills, coordination and cognition. Hence why I am passionate about encouraging exercise for children as its benefits contribute to general well-being and even everyday life.

Hi! My name is Jessica, and I’m an Allied Health Assistant at AKPS. I guide clients in carrying out their physiotherapy programs, as prescribed by Dr Amy. I help our clients engage in their programs to maximise their progression with their exercises and physical ability, whilst keeping it fun.
I am a 4th year student studying Psychological Science (Honours) at the University of Queensland. I have a great appreciation for the effects our physical health can have on other areas of life. I have additional experience in early intervention allied health assisting alongside occupational therapists, academic tutoring, and mentoring roles. With this background, I always strive for a holistic approach to my services, with emphasis on the importance of early development in both physical and cognitive areas. I encourage agency and independence in children’s care plans, as I believe this builds confidence in their physical ability and offers greater opportunity to maximise their quality of life.
